Meet the Community behind ADE Green 2025
ADE Green thrives on collaboration: the conference is powered by a network of organizations that believe culture can play a vital role in shaping a sustainable future. Each year we are joined by organizations that shape the way festivals, cities, and communities think about sustainability. Their expertise ranges from circular design to sonic exploration, from building resilient infrastructures to creating cultural movements. Together, they form an ecosystem that pushes boundaries and shows what a greener future can look like. In this article, we introduce you to the organizations and individuals that made the 2025 edition possible.
Circularity & Systems Change
These partners bring structure and scale to ADE Green. They implement circular systems in infrastructure, urban life, and festivals, creating fertile ground for long-term transformation.
- Circular Festivals ↗
A European coalition between 40+ organisations that reimagine festivals as testbeds for circular innovation. Through pilots and shared knowledge, they test new models for circularity that can inspire the wider industry and form a window to society. - Statiegeld Nederland ↗
After the deposit scheme was extended in the Netherlands to cover more packaging, festivals became one of the spaces to reach people. Statiegeld Nederland shows how systemic change connects with everyday behaviour. - VANG Buitenshuis ↗
Working across public spaces in the Netherlands, they focus on reducing waste and creating systems that make recycling second nature in daily life. - Bouwplaats van de Toekomst ↗
A construction site where circular principles guide every step. Their projects demonstrate how future cities can be built with reuse, adaptability, and resilience at their core. - City of Amsterdam ↗
The city has committed to becoming climate neutral and fully circular by 2050. ADE Green is one of the spaces where these ambitions connect with culture. In their words: “We aim to explore how we can address the complex challenges facing Amsterdam. By bringing together diverse perspectives and roles, we hope to shed light on these challenges in a holistic way. Events provide one of these perspectives, but we also focus on the contributions of policymakers, innovators, knowledge institutions, and impact makers. Together, we aim to inspire actionable solutions and foster meaningful collaborations.”
Creative Sonic Experiences
ADE Green is about culture as much as policy. These creatives bring sustainability into the realm of feeling, where music and art become catalysts for change. Exploring how sound and creativity can shift perception.
- Alchemic Sonic Environment ↗
Returning to ADE Green after first attending in 2013, they bring Essence: A Deep Listening Experience. They invite participants into an immersive practice where listening becomes an active, transformative force. “From noise to listening. From doing to being. Our wish is to spark conversations on the deeper shift that begins within.” - Emergency Exit ↗
Exploring climate urgency through artistic and performative practices, this project translates ecological realities into four immersive shows across Europe, building bridges between organizations as Boom, Exit , and La Fura dels Baus. - Mindworks Lab ↗
A think-and-do tank exploring the human side of climate action. “Conversations are an incredibly powerful tool to get people to reflect, shift and feel more empowered to act. We are organising a unique 1:1 conversation between two very different artists that will show the power of meaningful dialogue and itself spark more conversations.”
Movement Makers & Culture Amplifiers
Communities and initiatives that turn climate awareness into collective action. These ambassadors show that climate action is cultural as much as technical. They bring people togethe and transform community energy into collective momentum.
- Amnesty International NL ↗
Bringing an ethical lens to ADE Green, reminding us that culture, freedom, and human rights are inseparable — and that social justice is fundamental to sustainable futures. - DJs For Climate Action ↗
A global network of DJs using nightlife as a platform for climate justice. Their Earth Night series mobilizes audiences across continents through music and action. - Lab Vlieland ↗
Based on the island of Vlieland, this lab develops and tests sustainable solutions that are rooted in place but designed for wider application. - A Greener Future ↗
An organization providing certification and guidance, helping festivals and events measure and improve their sustainability performance.
Infrastructure Innovators
Festivals are temporary cities. These partners provide the systems—water, power, logistics—that make sustainable operations tangible and scalable. They provide the technical expertise that allows festivals to operate responsibly.
- MTD ↗
Experts in water infrastructure for events, ensuring that resources are managed responsibly without compromising on quality. - The Powershop ↗
Experts in smart energy distribution. By rethinking how power is delivered and used, they help festivals reduce emissions without sacrificing reliability.
Festival Organizations
As laboratories for change, these organisations show how legacy, creativity, and experimentation can shape both industry standards and cultural movements.
- Into the Great Wide Open ↗ – A festival taking place on the island of Vlieland in the Netherlands, that has become a benchmark for circular, fossil-free operation. In 2024 they ran on 95% renewable energy, and they continue to push towards emission-free operations while inspiring the wider cultural sector.
- ID&T ↗ – With a legacy that shaped festival culture across the Netherlands, ID&T has been central to building the foundations of ADE Green in its beginning. Read more about our partnership with ID&T below.
Join the Conversations
ADE Green is an ecosystem where infrastructure, creativity, policy, and culture meet. All of these organizations will be present at ADE Green with multiple representatives. This is an opportunity to meet, to exchange, and to imagine new collaborations.
Navigating complexity: ADE Green and its collaboration with ID&T
The story of ADE Green began in 2013 as a response to the growing need for a sustainability ecosystem within the music industry. ID&T co-founded ADE Green and has supported the conference in its development as a loyal partner since.
As a sub-conference of ADE dedicated to sustainability and social responsibility, we are acutely aware of the ties between ID&T, its parent company Superstruct, and investor KKR, whose portfolio has been linked by Follow the Money to corporations associated with Israeli military supply chains.
ADE Green feels the weight of the humanitarian atrocities in Gaza, which human rights experts and institutions like the UN have described as genocide. In light of this ADE Green sees a responsibility to confront these issues transparently and urgently. Rather than turning away, we are using this year’s platform to explore the ethical challenges our industry is facing, particularly in the context of complex funding ties.
In 2025, ADE Green will host a dedicated session inviting a festival, an artist and an investigative journalist from Follow the Money. The session will be accessible to ADE Pro and ADE Green Pass holders and is designed to open a dialogue around complicity, corporate responsibility, and the future of ethical collaboration in our industry.
Through this initiative, ADE Green reaffirms its commitment to critical reflection, collective accountability, and enabling dialogue, especially when it’s difficult. This approach is part of ADE’s broader mission to promote sustainability, diversity, and ethical integrity in the music industry.
